SHARK

The skeleton of a shark has no bones and consists only of cartilaginous tissue. The streamlined body is covered with scales with pronounced relief protrusions, the strength of which is not inferior to the teeth, in connection with which the scales of the shark were called “dermal teeth”. The shark’s respiratory organs are the gill slits located in front of the pectoral fins.

The heart of the shark supports too low blood pressure, so to stimulate blood flow the fish should be as often as possible in motion, helping the heart with continuous muscle contractions. Although some species of sharks feel great, lying on the bottom and pumping water through the gills.

SEAL

Nerpa is an excellent swimmer and diver. The depth of 50 meters for it is not the limit, under the water, it can safely be 20 minutes. To replenish the air reserve, the beast suffices only a couple of seconds.

Such physical abilities favorably affect hunting. The animal feeds mainly on fish.

Except for the man who destroys the ringed seal for the sake of fur, fat and meat, this beast has enough enemies among the predators of the Arctic. Here in the first place is a polar bear. A clumsy man likes to wait for his victim near the polynya.

As soon as the animal’s nose appears from the water to replenish the air supply, the bear’s paw inflicts a powerful blow to his head. The predator pulls the deafened seal on the ice, finishes it and eats it. Arctic Foxes are also a great danger.

They have an excellent sense of smell, speed and agility. They are wonderful hunters, and it is very difficult to avoid their sharp teeth.

WALRUS

Walrus is a special representative of pinnipeds. Walrus is a very large animal, it grows to a length of 5 m in length and weighs about 1.5 tonnes. In powerful old males, all skin is covered with battle scars and scars – this is a reminder of past encounters with rivals.

Terrible fangs of such a large animal suggest some fear. In fact, the walrus finds its peaceful weapon quite peaceful use: it plows the seabed with fangs in search of its favorite food – shellfish.

But sometimes there are real predators among them, hunting seals, seals, even attacking people. More often the walrus gets used to meat, having tried it casually, but after that he will never return to former food. Such Chukchi walruses are called “keliuchamy” and they are greatly feared by them.

Killer whale

The largest carnivorous dolphins. They eat literally all living things: fish, cephalopod mollusks, marine mammals. When food is enough, the killer whale peacefully coexists with other cetaceans, but in the event that the killer whales are hungry, they attack without hesitation any rorqual and whales, other dolphins, pinnipeds, and even penguins.

And the size of the victim does not matter: if it is large, the killer whale is a herd. When killing a victim with one blow does not work, killer whales exhaust her, biting off pieces of meat from her body. They bite their teeth in the throat of whales, tear his tongue, shred the fins.

Killer whales are the most predatory animals friendly to humans. In the wild, they do not show fear to a person, all attacks of killer whales on humans were committed either by wounded animals or for self-defense purposes.

Killer whales often swim to the ships, exposing muzzles over the water, as if inspecting it. Being in captivity, they quickly get used to the person, they are easily amenable to training.
