Tribal – from the English. “Tribal” (a dance) associated with something ancient, outside of modern civilization, with something fantastic and wild. The clothes of dancers of this style resemble amazing armor – many exquisite and outlandish ornaments cover their bodies, while not closing them so much as emphasizing shapes elegance and body lines.

When both the dancers decorations and the dance style become too gloomy and gloomy – this is the Gotic Tribal, if this mixture of styles is the Fusion Tribal, these are the main two varieties tribal, in addition to the standard ATS (american tribal style). That came about thanks to Jameel Salimpur in about 1952.

She was so fascinated by the stories of her father, who served in Africa and saw the belly dancing of Egyptian dancers, that she tried to convey her impressions and performances herself through her own dance. For the stage image, she used elements of ethnic costumes and tattoos. In 1969, she created her own group of dancers in the number of 40 people. This dance direction was beginning from this.

You can dance tribal almost to any music, from drum solo to electronic. Sounding instruments are tabla (a kind of a drum), a mizmar (pipe) and a rebab (a single-stringed instrument similar to a violin). In some styles – for example, Fusion Tribal – use processed ethnic music and electronic with heavy rhythms.
