Illustration «The War of 1812»
Making off

February 22, 2017

Kutuzov, Mikhail Illarionovich. Great Russian commander. Earl, the illustrious prince of Smolensk.
The General-Field Marshal. Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army during War Domestic in 1812.

His life passed in battles. Personal courage brought him many awards, and also two wounds in the head – both considered deadly. He survived both times and returned to order, that meant: Kutuzov is intended for something great. The answer to the expectations of contemporaries was the victory over Napoleon, that raised the commander’s figure to the epic proportions.
